I was driving to my parents today for Thanksgiving dinner and traffic was slo. AT one of the entrances to the freeway two young guys were trying to hitch a ride and, as usual, most people were ignoring them because, if you get caught picking up hitchhikers on ramp to the freeway, you get a substantial fine. Besides most people are too busy and self centered with their own schedules to bother with hitchhikers.

What made me notice these guys is the sign written on cardboard that one of them was holding. It said, "Fairies". I thought what the....? and then I laughed because it dawned on me pretty quickly is that they wanted a ride to the Ferries so they could go island hopping. I wondered if he ever even noticed that he had the wrong word written on his cardboard sign. I wondered if anybody but myself would realize that it was spelled completely wrong and was actually another word entirely? I wondered if everyone, like me, would just laugh at this poor guy's ignorance and keep driving.

this last summer when the children flew to iowa, i noticed a sign above one of the gates; "airline flight number xxx will be boreding at..."

i figured that whoever was responsible for entering the text in the overhead monitor was bored and could not be bothered to look up the correct word- or perhaps that the flight would be uneventful...

Very funny Winn and notyet! I remember seeing an Altoids manufacturers display. The prepreinted caption was "Altoids, share one with a fiend." It wasn't even October!

Last week, I went to my favorite Mexican place for lunch. I noticed that sign that said, "If you are using a Visa or MasterCAD, you will have to show your id."

Well, I left my Visa at home, got rid of my "mastercad" two years ago ~ lucky thing I had cash.

Yesterday in an eHA PM, I typed dysfunctional without the first "n."

I believe that's what you call a Freudian slip.
