Last Saturday I had dinner at a pub and grill close to my house (w/in walking distance) that has great burgers. They're a little too big for me to eat in one sitting unless I'm starved to death. I eat about 2/3 of the burger, have a couple of beers, and decide to hit my normal watering hole on the way home for a couple more. So I box up the rest of the burger for my dog and head out.down the street to the next local.

On the way I stop to say hi to a friendly acquaintance who's sitting with a female friend in the patio area of another bar on the same street. During our little conversation I tell them what I had to eat, where I was heading, and what I was carrying was the doggy bag. After this the friend (who I've never met before BTW) looks up at me and asks: "Can I have a bite?" I thought she was joking so I start to laugh it off, but by the look on her face it looks like she's seriously. So I ask if she was serious, and she says yes. So I hand over the box and say: "Here you go just leave a couple of bites for my dog", and she eats about half of what was left. Crazy!

Okay, so this guy and his girl were already sitting outside when you strolled by, right?

I'm gonna need a little more info before I can give you my diagnoses of the situation.

I got a couple of questions.....

1. Were they smoking? Or perhaps had been ?
2. What were they smoking?
3. What was his reaction to his gf's strange request?

That is all.

Actually, they were both girls. Guess I didn't make that clear, sorry. The acquaintance was smoking a cigerette, but the one that ate some of the burger wasn't smoking. I think they both had a drink, but I don't think either of them was really messed up.

Oh, that does make a difference. Hmmmmmm.....
I'm not sure exactly what was with the panhandler, but if I was saving something for my dog, no dice.

Is it wrong that I consider this the funniest part of your story?

(random story though -- thanks for sharing!)

I don't find it weird at all. If the girl was hungry why not ask?
