So there was this grasshopper laying on the edge of the carport ... little over an inch long, green leafy looking ... dead.

I brush it off ... let the other insects deal with the corpse as they desire.

Wasp comes flying over, picks up the grasshopper and starts away from the carport with it ... I'm internally cheering. Gets about three feet away, then seems to get lost and head back towards the carport ... no, wrong way little buddy. After some effort, he gets the grasshopper back onto the carport, then flies away .....

ummmmm welll....
the karmic insect world seems to be saying that is the final resting place?

Perhaps it was a peace offering from the insects to you? Or perhaps a distraction while the ants raid your kitchen and steal all your food?

I thought that insect that looks like a leaf is called a katydid.... *ponders*

wasps lay their eggs in dead insects.
perhaps, she decided to

A lot of insects have natural forms to conceal themselves.
