I took my first boyfriend to my family reunion (I was 15). My great-aunt, upon meeting him, said, "You know, not much you can do about it if you're born into this family. But if you marry into it...well, that's your own damn fault."

I think the only reason he didn't dump me on the spot was that he was scared that my parents wouldn't drive him home if he did...

I have a very large family...especially on my Father's side. When my brother got married during the rehearsal dinner toasts, everybody was welcoming the bride to the "Family"...it was reiterated so much that some of the bride's friends who traveled into to town were wondering...Do the French have a Mafia? Is there such thing as a French Mafia? Is our friend marrying into something we shouldn't know???"

No Family of my own..but I did attend my 25th High School Reunion a few years ago. Most memorable part of the night for me (other than scoring TONS of hugs and kisses from women that I used to crush on) was seeing that EVERY single guy in the place was also now bald with a paunch.

I just started the trend early in my 20's. I never knew that I was a "tend-setter". LOL!!!

I know what you mean HarryG.

I dropped weight from 250 to 220...then 220 to 200 several years later when I moved to Dallas. I'm still overweight..but it dawned me at my 20th Class reunion...I can truly say at my age range, I'm better than average...maybe better than my peers in terms of love handles, etc. Desk jobs have not treated my old classmates kindly.

That sounds like some interesting advice.

Reunion stories.....other than my sleaze ball second cousin hitting on all of the girls at the reunion (I guess he forgot where he was )....nope.

Have one coming up at the end of the month so I'll have to let you know then.

Wow Family reunions.
We have a major family reunion every 4 yrs, the yrs between we have 'small get-togethers' (where the family jus in kentucky comes for a few hrs of B.S.n and food)

The last major one we had was awesome, we did the cookout thing, then we all gathered at my family's house and rode 4 wheelers, dirt bikes an played horse shoes an baseball, then a few of us (20 or so) decided to go to the truck n tractor pull, where we proceeded to drink Jim n coke an hoot an holler at our 'favorite' trucks an tractors.

The thing is, they are talkin bout havin another reunion in a couple of months, an they were talkin bout doin the same thing this yr. Its a blast an I cant wait.
Only problem is, the truck n tractor pulls stop in jus a few more weeks.

I think if I even saw one of my relatives it would be like a family reunion since it has been over 10 years since I saw any of them ... unless Facebook counts?
