...2-1/2 years since I've adopted an animal. *hello, laced*

There's a rabbit in my shower (I know, it's weird), and my two kids each have a cat. One of the cats is bizarre and stays in the downstairs bedroom, so the other cat is alone while I'm at work and the kids are away. We have an 13 year old dog outside who probably won't be with us much longer. I spent most of the day cleaning up after the animals, which only frustrates me when I don't have any help with this.

I've been thinking of getting a kitten. The kids are away for two weeks, so the house is very, very quiet. This is a bad combination. I found "Giovanni," an 11-week old kitten on Craigslist today. It feels like he should be ours -- solid grey medium length hair with bright green eyes. My cat Vincent that I had college looked just like but met an abrupt demise four days before my wedding: my husband-to-be's husky attacked him. Maybe Giovanni would provide restitution -- maybe he would right a wrong and be a friend to our cool cat Twitch.

Should I further rationalize this adoption, or should I start a 12-step program? If I do adopt Giovanni, what should I name him? I'm thinking Milo or Dude...

Do I help you rationalize adopting another? Or do you help me rationalize keeping Lollie's solitary kitty? Or do we just high-five and say "Yeah! Another cat!" LOL. Why don't you like the name Giovanni? It's very cosmopolitan....But I'll need help renaming one of the new goats. I just can't get on board with "Moo Cow."

Giovanni is a nice name -- just has a negative feel to it since my ex- (who's dog ate my cat Vincent) was Italian. How about "Tweak?" Twitch and Tweak.

Hmmm, what to name a goat -- has there already been a thread on this that I missed? How about Leno? (Goats have beards that makes their chins look big, no?)

Somebody's clearly not told us everything that happened on that trip!

And wait, don't adopt! Take one of mine!! You'll be here next week, I'll load one up in the cat carrier and you can take it home with you. Would you prefer the one with bulimia? Or the one who hisses at strangers?

*crosses her fingers and says "please take the one with bulimia, oh please, pretty please!"*

Well, the boy is "Rudy," and I can deal with this. This is the doe. They've been calling her Moo Cow because she's black and white but that sort of makes me grind my teeth, lol. What can you get if you take the letters in Giovanni and rearrange them into something else? Even if you don't use them all? Hmmmmm, another word game for CSC....

Yes, I know. That I still married him has been a topic of conversation many, many times since. That "red flag" was of ginormous proportions, yet it was probably the least of the reasons I shouldn't haven't married him, LOL.
