I have just returned from over 3 hours at the salon...obviously a new place for me since my previous one is almost 3000 miles away--I hate moving!

The job...I would like some subtle highlights, just like the ones that are growing out, accomplished with three colors: dark brown (my hair color...to hide the grays: main mission of the procedure), a lighter brown and a red. For the light brown, the stylist had a blond swatch. I said (and repeated a couple times) I DO NOT WANT BLOND. She assured me it would end up a light brown when applied to my hair color.

After an hour and a half, I was blow-dried and felt like this:

They were absolutely blond, almost yellow stripes! Not subtle! Not a good look for me!

Another hour and a half later, it is fixed, but still not what I wanted. Tell me your hair salon horror stories!

I would pout, but I got home to find a lovely PM from patrickjeff, who is:
"very sincere about finding a true soulmate,companion...and hopefully a true relationship, Honesty, Trust, Dedication and Respect..and knowing how to Respect Each Others Feelings and Concerns is so important.I am a very easy going fun loving person with a very realistic but optimistic view on things with many wholesome interests and values, i will like to know more about you, can u tell add me to your yahoo messenger list so that we can talk ore about ourselves."

Should I tell him I do not have wholesome interests and values...they are all entirely wicked?

So, is anyone else in competition with me for patrickjeff?

LOL - you've got him all to yourself Mel!

Ah yes, hair salon boo-boos. Well, my horror story was going in with thick waist length hair ... and coming out with a bob! The bob didn't work, because we didn't know that my hair was naturally curly as the length and thickness of my hair had pulled my hair straight. No weight, all these bouncy curls rocked on up! I'm used to it now and can wear it straight, wavy or curly; but I cried bitterly when I got home from the salon ... I seem to remember consuming much chocolate and coffee too!

Oh, I'm sorry your hair was so disappointing that you cried. A cut like that you can't undo...I guess I was lucky it was just color and I asked her if we could write down the name of the color so we wouldn't use it again, so she said we could fix it. I was going to just leave (I don't know how to complain)

Glad the chocolate therapy to get could help you get over your bob (*snicker*).

Well, you are not in competition with me patrickjeff, but I guarantee you, there are other ladies out there who might be "a companion with the same interests, values morals and goals" as him. Lord knows what those are! LOL!

I think it was more the shock of getting a hair-cut which I did not request. (I will never ever again allow my hair to be managed by an un-supervised apprentice!) Ah well, them's the breaks! I'm glad she could fix your colour.

Oh, wow, my mistake. I thought you wanted the cut but just didn't expect the curl.

That really sucks then!

Yum, yum - I have Choc-Mint Fudge in the fridge ... did you know your chocolate tastes completely different to what we have in Australia? I was most surprised. I was even more surprised to see American chocolate for sale in our local supermarket and it was a combo of peanut butter and chocolate! Is that real?

Um, there are candy bars with chocolate and peanut butter, yes. Not all chocolate has peanut butter in it, if that's what you mean.

I don't know if I've tried Australian chocolate...do you know if it is like British chocolate? That is GOOOOD!
