I had a parishioner come to church one winter's Sunday when many of us had lost power for a few days due to an ice storm. I approached her before the service with a cheery "good morning...how are ya?"
"How am I?!" she said through gritted teeth. "I have spent most of this week standing on my deck in sub-freezing temperatures melting soup kettles full of snow over my gas grill so that our family of five can flush the toilet! Does that answer your question?!"

Um, yeah. Guess it did....
