One of my lovely relatives just built a gorgeous, tasteful 4000 sq ft house. His next-door neighbor has a Confederate flag hanging as a curtain in a bedroom window facing his patio. We're thinking up creative ways to quell the image. He wants to order tasteful curtains and have them delivered directly to the house. I say plant a tree or even go hang something on the OUTSIDE of the window. I also suggested he fly something (possibly the Union Jack) from the patio that sends an opposing message. Personally, I think a cannon mounted on the carport wall might work but he thinks that's overkill.

Ideas? Suggestions? Rants?

I placed a lovely LARGE ficus tree in front of a window when one of my tenants posted a political poster... in the kitchen window facing out into the walkway... the walkway is not visible from the street ... it was not before an election...
it served no purpose except to clutter up the lovely walkway...with propaganda...
TREES lots of em....

AP... tsk tsk.. violence never solved anything..

Just kidding... Actually, to find fault and/or force someone to remove or modify something that is on ground that they own or rent, would be to allow them permission to find something you do offensive and force you to cease and desist.. Therefore, everybody can tell everybody what they can or cannot do, in which case nobody can do anything.. But until then?? Good fences make good neighbors.. Or brick through the window..

I'm a big fan of fences myself. Now if my neighbor would just stop feeding the legions of raccoons that climb over my fence and onto my roof and gallop around in the middle of the night in some sort of raccoon mystic ritual, I'd be a less grumpy neighbor in the early morning after having been kept awake by the critters he's made welcome in our surburban neighborhood.

Paint gun? Still got that cake catapult around? Maybe I can catapult the raccoons over into the next neighborhood : )
