So, my kidney stone surgery is tomorrow. Originally, it was to be regional anesthesia and I would be able to drive myself to and from the Hospital after a few hours of recovery. Then my Urologist, discovered an "abnormality" with one of my tubes and changes everything last minute to general anesthesia and no driving.

Well...that stunk. I live in the country and have no friends that live near me. The ones I do have would not be able to get away from work to give me a lift. So, it looked like a night in the Hospital lobby for me. I happened to mention my aggravation to some coworkers and then left to teach class.

Well....when class was over, my co-workers (who I never thought cared one way or another for me) had arranged a 5:00 am pickup for me and at least 2 people who said that they would be on call for whenever I was ready to go home. Shocked is an understatement.

So, assuming that I survive the surgery-and I should (fingers crossed)-I have many a Thank You card to write. I just wanted to share with fellow CSCers simply to say that nice deeds and good people really do exist in our world.

Keep your faith in Mankind.

Harry, let me start by wishing you good luck with your surgery. You will be in my thoughts and prayers!

And of course your co-workers care about you. How could they not? To know Harry is to love him!

That is good to know that you will be taken care of and never let the goodness of others surprise you.

Take care tomorrow and the days after, I know it will not be a fun day for you.

Harry- I second what everyone else said - of course people want to help such a great guy!! You'll be in my thoughts tomorrow. Now please sign a release of information and tell your surgeon to post your results on CSC. :-)

Harry, You are certainly in my thoughts and prayers for tomorrow. Thank goodness for your colleagues. I'm sure any one of us would take you if we only lived 1000 miles closer

HarryG good luck for tomorrow. I am not suprised that that people want to help you...not only are you a sweetheart, but if I've learned one thing from CSC, it's that people are kind and loving to complete strangers.

Good luck and let us know how things go.
