Woohoo! I think my toad lilies are coming back! I only planted them around July of last year and I've never had them before. They bloomed for me in the fall, but they were so young I only got a few blooms. I'm gonna get more of these! (Picture to follow, they are SO cool!)
Planted toad lillies a few years ago and they grew about 2 inches before they died.

Cool plant though!

Welp, their survival/bloom into year 2 remains to be seen, lol. But I hope they do. They're so small you need several to make any kind of impact. I bought 6 last year and gave 3 to my friend to see which ones would do better. She got one bloom, but all three of mine bloomed, so she's gonna give me hers whenever they pop up this year (if they do). I have the blue, but I want all the colors now!

Sooo boooteeful! I'm so jazzed and at peace at the same time! Right now I'm excited about my saffron crocus and elephant garlic from a store bought clove. And my seeds are sprouting! OMG! But it's time to go. I'll think of you all while in the garden this afternoon.

You know, it's really just a question of decent dirt, right plant in right place, and plenty of water. Anybody can do it.

I'm gonna start seeds this weekend! I have a bazillion milk jugs I saved all winter. Whack the top off, poke a few holes in the bottom, add dirt and seeds. I'll be starting marigolds, zinnias, gloriosa daisies, morning glories, moonflowers, bachelor buttons, calendulas, cosmos and sunflowers in the jugs. I also have seeds from that weird thing that I had last year that nobody knew what it was. In fact, I'm gonna post a picture of that thing. Maybe somebody knows what it is! Then later on I'll just throw marigold seeds wherever I see a bare spot.

I'm not sure how this picture will turn out - the original is lost on my dead computer so I had to copy it off an online album. But has anybody ever seen one of these?
