How did you spend your day the last time you took a day off from work? I took tomorrow off - for no reason. Trying to decide between sleeping/lounging all day or actually being productive. Hmmmmm

If I'm feeling totally burnt out...I do nothing.

If I'm feeling like I need time for myself...I go shopping.

I've taken a couple days here and there....

As for sleeping/lounging/being productive, it depends....if the weather is nice, DEFINITELY you should go out and enjoy the day and while you can sleep in, veg out etc until noon...try to at least do 1-2 hours of house chores. You'll be amazed how much you can actuallyaccomplished in that time frime. You can do anything from washing the dishes, separating/putting the dirty laundry in, paying the bills, dusting in about 30 minutes. You'd feel great and not as guilty afterwards!

What's a day off? The last time I requested "time off" I took a dog and 2 cats to be spayed/neutered. Whee. I know, I know. Y'all couldn't possibly keep up with my exciting life.

Hmm...I took a mental health day a couple weeks ago. I watched some tv while laying on my couch, went to lunch with my friend, put away all my laundry and got my cell phone number changed. I didn't really do much, but time just seemed to fly by anyway. Enjoy your day off!

Fino - I am so with you. The last time I took a day off "just cuz" may have been last fall. Otherwise there's always been something that HAS to be done - fun or not.

Right now I'm most in line with PY's thinking. I know if I don't do anything, I'll probably regret it later. BUT there's a winter storm warning for this evening - so snow/ice is coming. Reading a book or two counts as doing something, right?? Sitting on the couch with a fire going and reading a book has to count as doing something. It just has to.

I even left work early today (horror!! what has gotten into me?). Dishes are washing as I type. Kids and I spent the weekend spring cleaning (where is my Spring weather already!! ). Laundry is done. I could clean out the storage room, I guess. It looks like wild animals spent the winter in there - only because teenagers don't believe in putting anything back the way it was when the found it!

Or I could just sit in a chair and enjoy the silence!

Well...during a "snow day", all I do is shovel that carpy white drek all day. But on an actual day off, I like to call me friends and see if we can get a mutual "hooky" thing going. I love to window shop (believe it or not) and its more fun when you have one or more people with whom you can be goofy and have fun. Most times, my friends are busy so I sleep a little later (past 5:00 am) and I hit a few stores by myself. Not as much fun, but still good.

That would be my vote! Why do today what you can put off for tomorrow? lol

I have a mental health week scheduled from Apr. 25 to May 3. Until then I'm all work and no play and quite dull. Blessed blessed CSC gives me the short breaks my brain needs so I don't run into the meat department at Publix and explain to them that they are doing it /all/ wrong and they should butcher their meat according to anatomical principles ... *throws hands up and wanders off to speak to the peas in the freezer aboutsome rules and regulationsof homeostasis and thermoregulationthey should know about*.

p.s. I had to edit this 3 times for word errors. The peas were unhelpful.
