My best friend in the whole world is a total geek, as is her boyfriend of many years. So they were playing Scrabble together ('cause they're geeks, okay?) and he manages to get down the word "extant." The letter "X" is worth 8 points, so that's a 13-point word. "Ooohhh," breathes my friend, both annoyed and deeply impressed. She takes her turn. Then on his next turn, he pulls out the letter "S" to make the word "sextant." Fourteen more points. Admirable foresight. Excellent vocabulary. She is overcome and sighs to him, "I've never wanted you more."

So cute! I have always envied their relationship.

Oh yes, and she told me this story while she and I were playing Scrabble...'cause I'm a geek, too.

Yay! We can all play Scrabble together, at whichever meet'n'greet I finally make it to!

Do you think you could find me someone like her boyfriend, too?

I save the 'X', 'Q' and 'Z' for double / triple letter / word scores. Only 13 points ? Am I a bigger geek ??

Um....will you guys still somewhat like me after I tell you this?

I've played Scrabble in tournaments. When it was on facebook, I'd play 10-12 games at a time. I am a geek and Scrabble is only the tip of the iceberg.

I heart Scwabble.
