The physical body is the being that houses the soul. The physical body is not what will be resurrected. It depends on your belief if the soul is resurrected or not. If one believes that the soul goes to a holding area, then the resurrection will take place, but if the soul returns to God, the resurrection takes place then.

Let us remember, there is several different religions, and every religion believes that their religion is the right one, thus creating the need for all of us to be tolerant.

regardless of how some think that hope for eternal life is a recent (within the last two thousand years) development in the judeo/christian tradition- remember that even job hoped to live again.

"I know that my Redeemer lives, and that in the end he will stand upon the earth. And after my skin has been destroyed, yet in my flesh I will see God; I myself will see him with my own eyes—I, and not another."

Job 19:25-27
