Ah, dear sir, if you want to bring up Leviticus, then we can have a long, drawn out debate. I would warn you against bringing forth the "old law" considering Jesus died for our sin to forgive the "old law." But, yea, that is something most people don't tend to care about...is it..?

Actually J8A is not a sir. The old laws pretty much were put there to protect us...for our own good. God knows our nature and what happens when we head down the wrong path.

Yes, I got a good laugh out of that!

Especially since I'd posted this thread earlier, mentioning both my husband and step-daughter.

Then again...

I guess I really couldn't have expected Purple to have known that, now, could I?

First, let me express how sorry I am you had to deal with what you dealt with.

Second, let me mention: you survived, right? And found God, right? And considering the end all of all goals for a Christian is to reach heaven, well then, good sir, you made it. If that sounds cruel or unsympathetic, again, I apologize, it's truth.

Now, I do agree that certain circumstances may lead to further child molestation as you had mentioned. But I must say a few things that completely disregard the idea that Homosexuality is wrong.

First, upon complete study of the bible, it does not mention being "gay" is wrong. It mentions sex without marriage is wrong, and that's...really it. To be honest I am only referencing the Ten Commandments, which all Christians should honestly only live by those and also the added 11th by Christ (love they neighbor as thy self).

To be honest, now a days, the only reason homosexuals want marriage rights in America is the ability to receive the same benefits that heterosexual couples get when they are married. Which, in my view point, doesn't really show a love between two people, but an excuse to pay less taxes.

Also, I will have to point out, that my last boss was gay, before he retired. Him and his partner adopted a little girl. And when he finally got the paperwork signed, he threw a party at work for us and him, to celebrate his and his partners ability to adopt. Notice, I mentioned two gay guys adopting, a little girl. Which in their case, I am not afraid of any sexual harassment.

Last point, before this gets too far off point, is that the bible does mention that Governments should not tell it's people what they should or should not do, just as our God does not tell us what we should or should not do. What I mean by that is yes, I agree, God does tell us what we should or should not do, to connect with Him, but the Government should not limit people on their free will, just as God does not limit us on our free will.

Final point, keep Church and State separate. I only say this because I highly doubt you want to be Mormon, or Catholic, unless you are either, or Jewish, or any other form of "Church" that our state could align with.
The very first time I was called upon to play Jesus for a church play, I did an in-depth study on the books of Matthew and Mark in preparation for the role. When the Pharisees question Jesus on the laws governing marriage and divorce, Jesus Himself spoke on creation, saying that God made us man and woman and that a man shall leave his parents and be united with his wife. This is why I truly believe that homosexuality is just as wrong as premarital sex because God did not intend for us to have sex merely for pleasure! Did Jesus die on the cross for these sins to be forgiven? Yes! But everyone He ministered to, He told them to "go and sin no more!"
He didn't die on the cross for us just go out and do whatever we want whenever we want and still go to Heaven! That's why he told the parable about the wedding party and the person that wasn't dressed properly that would be thrown outside where the was great weeping and gnashing of teeth!
