My uncle Benton passed away on Thursday night. He was our church's praise and worship leader. It's heartbreaking because I just spoke to him Sunday before service started. I still haven't gotten all the details I just know he'd been sick for awhile, then just as things started looking better, he relapsed and my aunt had to call an ambulance to come get him. I'm supposed to be at work getting in some overtime, but I went in yesterday and it was really hard for me to stay from 11am to 5pm. I guess I'll explain things to my boss on Monday. I am finding peace in the fact that he lived his life for God and that I know he's in Heaven.

I'm so sorry to hear that, Jason. Life can change so fast. We think we have it all together and then God changes the game plan. I am glad that you can take comfort in knowing that your uncle lived for God. You can also take comfort in the fact tht God is always in charge and has our best interests in mind.

I'm praying for your aunt and that you will have time to process and grieve for your uncle and be there for your aunt. I'm also praying that you have an understanding boss and that you will be at peace with this.

Today's service was hard. My dad has taken over the praise and worship ministry and I was crying be the time we got to the end of Your Love Never Fails by Chris Quilala.

It's good to cry and allow yourself to be vulnerable, especially during a Sunday service because that's what these services are all about. Being vulnerable and allowing God to use us as one of the body of Christ. God will speak to you, Jason, during these difficult times. Let Him do that and minister to you so you in turn can minister to those you love who are also going through the same thing.

[CENTER]Wait

Desperately, helplessly, longingly, I cried:
Quietly, patiently, lovingly God replied.
I pled and I wept for a clue to my fate,
and the Master so gently said, “Child, you must wait”.

We had his funeral service on Wed... and it was the best memorial service I've ever been to! It is sad that my uncle is gone, but I find peace and comfort in knowing where he is and that by living life according to The Lord that I will see him again!
