I know at first the answer to this questions seems a bit like a no brainer. Of course, if you are conservative and fundamental (not just in words, but at the core of your belief system) then yes, it is limiting. Or is it?? I fall in this catagory and have for many years thought of my beliefs as much a part of me as say my eye color. They make me who I am. The woman who God designed me to be. But did God intend my belief in Him to like chains about me holding me back, restricting me from enjoying "freedom"? Although at time is seems like this, especially when my heart is aching for the affection of a godly husband, I am learning to see these beliefs as not limiting, restricting, or holding me from what I long for. Rather they are quite who I am and not cold chains of enslavement, but protective cords of love that are fetering my heart to God. These cords of love and trust will ultimately save me from being unequally joined together with someone who does not share the same beliefe system. I suppose then when viewed this way, limiting is not all so bad after all. What do you fellow readers think??
