I was riding my bike the other day when a cow moose and two calves came crashing out of the woods and stopped on the road in front of me. Emergency right turn and shift gears. The cow took a couple steps in my direction to protect her young but I guess saw I was leaving so didn’t pursue me further. Almost plowed into a parked car while looking over my shoulder.

At a thousand pounds and over 6’ at the shoulder you kind of have to yield the right of way.

or a blessing.....My Valentine's Day wish last year was to have a moose outside my window. At 10pm Valentine's Eve I heard a tap on the side of the house. I shut off all the lights, grabbed a flashlight and opened the blind. There, staring me in the face, was a HUGE moose. I stared at him. He stared back at me. Then he plopped down right outside the window for a little rest!! An awesome Valentine's gift!

Last year we had a HUGE bull moose in our yard. He was right by the window...Big window.... eating the shrubs in the front...Or what was left of them. His eye was gouged and bleeding. Moose are everywhere. But then that is Alaska for you.
