Well it seems my cat Minux is very ill and has been in the hospital for a week. The blood tests come back today and I may haveto decide about putting her to sleep....

It maybe a case of the vet asking about the cost of further treatment but I have already said that if I need to sella motorcycle or two to pay that is no problem.

I have never had to do this before and after haveing this cat for 16 years it is going to REALLY SUCK

Any advice on what to do afterwards if she is gone ???

I'm sorry about your losing your kitty. If you need to cry, do it. Give yourself time , because grief has its own time schedule. I've been there, done that, and bought the t shirt. Do you have other pets? If you do, they will need consoling too. Remember the Rainbow Bridge, and your cat is patiently waiting for you on the other side. And she'll always be there, healthy and purring. And she'll always have a special place in your heart,Never forget the UNCONDITIONAL LOVE you two shared. Hang in there, and take each day, one at a time. Have FAITH, because she is in heaven, waiting beside God, for you to return. Suzie

So I have not made plans to replace my cat .... BUT I have been volunteering at a local cat shelter once a week. My Vet told me about it becuase they needed people with medical training ( that would be me ) to help administer meds to some of the cats.

Its fun PLUS I get to hang out with like 60 cats every week and when I am ready I can easily adopt one

Thank you,Kaz.It had been awhile since I had heard from you, I was getting concerned. You're a GOOD person for volunteering like that. And you'll know when the time is right for adopting a new kitty friend. Take care, and let us know how you're doing. Suzie

So glad to hear you've opened up your heart to another cat! I, too, used to volunteer at a humane society and it was so sad to see the adult cats (anything beyond the "cute kitten" stage) lingering for weeks, perhaps months in a cage. And it takes a special person to adopt a pet with special needs such as Miss Macy. Looking forward to seeing pictures of your lucky kitty!
