zombie movies have to be THE best horror flicks around.

guns, horror, chaos, more guns... win, win, win, win! =oP

the remake of 'dawn of the dead' is prolly one of the best zombie flicks, though the original was pretty good too!

any zombie movie is a good movie in my book.
but they have to be actual zombies, and the movie has to try. i say this because "Teenage Zombies" is a movie from the 60's that doesnt deserve to exist.

I like the DawnOFD remake zombies...and gore. Also enjoyed LandOFD. I am also really warming up to the Resident Evil stuff. 3 just rocked with ZomBirds.

The remake of "Dawn of the Dead" was very good, even though it was actually a remake of both "Night of the Living Dead" and "Dawn of the Dead." The interesting thing is that prior to George Romero's cannibalistic zombies, there were a great many zombie movies made, and none of them actually featured zombies that had a craving for human flesh.

They just walked around very slowly with blank expressions on their faces, doing the bidding of their master. Consequently, they were a very good source of cheap labor ("Plague of the Zombies") or used as means to scare or control others ("I Walked with a Zombie").

But then George Romero changed all that.

Perhaps a slightly old topic but I thought I would throw my two cents in since I love zombie movies. Everyone seems to be in agreement that Dawn of the Dead(old and remake) were really good but what about Return of the Living Dead and Zombi 2?

I mean zombies running around screaming “Brains!!” is awesome in my opinion and Zombi 2 has some nice old special effects. Plus I like the old slow moving zombies just as much as the fast sprinters from the new movies.

The most overlooked zombie movie out of the "classics" is probably Fulci's "Zombie".

well, zombi 2 has the distinct honor of one of the most incredible eye removal scenes in history-rivalled only by Hostel-but, i think there is something more nerve wrecking about the staggering zombies. i mean, until the upcoming remake, did Jason Voorhees EVER run? the slow and overwhelming sensation just adds to the moment.

by the way, i just caught the "remake" of DayOTD and that sucked. not a remake in any sense of the word other than the fact that it revolved around the military. and i have never seen zombies move that fast and eratic (or walk on the ceiling). it seemed that Rhodes was in there for horror fan compensation. and what they did to "Bub", or rather "Bud"....grrrrrrrrrrr.

AwaitingtheVultures, Fluci's Zombie is Zombi 2 as the original Zombi movie wasDawn of the Dead. Zombi is just the title it had in Europeand Zombi 2 is suppose to be the sequal to that.I read about Zombi 2 and was trying to find out what what Zombi one was about. And besides the eye scene its the only movie that I can think of it a zombie vs a shark!

As for Jason Vorhees running that was in the original movies. He didn't start the stalking till like Friday the 13th VI. So I'm glad they are returning to the roots of what he was before as in the original movies. Stalking Jason is cool but running and calculating Jason is what he started out as and for a Remake of the original three movies you need to have that.

I haven't seen the original Day of the Dead but I read about the new one and how it changed what the whole purpose of the original was. Although I saw it at Walmart today and was tempted to buy it but I ended up getting the aliens trilogy and this movie called 'Black Sheep". It has were-sheep in it!!!

you know, ive heard about that zombie vs shark scene, but i, for the life of me, cannot remember that....at all!

have you seen the trailers and teasers for the next Jason movie? he has never moved like he does in this. and actually, he goes from pre-sack head to hockey mask in this. its not so much a remake, but just a movie about the essence of the Friday the 13th story: Jason reeking havoc.

DayOTD was a huge diappointment to me. And as the holographic box cover is stores led me to believe, the zombie did not have projectile vomit....they moved too friggin fast to need it.

i dont trust small budget/independent horror's any more. they have start to let me down. but, there are bright spots in that mix: Feast, Feast II: Sloppy Seconds, Hatchet, Slither, Jack Brooks: Monster Slayer, Lost Boys 2: The Tribe, My Name is Bruce.

Haha, yeah, a zombie trying to eat a shark was cool and a rather long scene. I have the 25th Anniversary Edition of Zombi 2. I was just watching the trailer for the F13th remake and I think it looks good. I was reading the interviews with the producers of it. Basically they were going to make an origins story about it but decided to just do a remake of the original story or first three films. They liked some of the things from the original like ways he killed people, the fast movie, and his trap setting. I like that they go from the no mask, to the sack over his head, and finally to the hockey mask. Either way I really want to see the movie when it comes out

I also heard they were doing a Nightmare on Elm Street remake. But I've heard two stories about it as I thought it was suppose to be called Elm Street and have Freddy before he becomes the Nightmare and it follows the murders and how they caught him and then finally to his fiery demise. But then I had heard that there was an actual remake like this Friday the 13th one....and I still think Freddy vs. Jason vs. Ash would have been great. The comic was good
