I go the the gym 4-5 times per week - trying more for 5 lately.

Two days a week I take classes - bellydancing one day and water aerobics the other day.

I have a session with a trainer once a week during which we'll work either upper or lower, then I do 45 mins on the elliptical.

The other two days I weight train on my own, one day doing the other half of my body that I didn't do with my trainer and the last day, a combined upper and lower body session, both with the 45 minutes on elliptical.

I'm thinking of swapping out 2 water aerobics a month to try either a spinning class, or a boxing class, or one of each, and swapping out 1 bellydancing class a month to try either pilates or "step plus abs" (or one of each) just for some variety.

I'm averaging just under 1.5lbs lost per week as of now. It feels REALLY slow but I do believe that with achieving permanent weight loss, slow and steady really does win the race.

How about you? What are you doing and how's it working for you???

I go to the gym 4 times a week. On all 4 of those days I put in over an hour of cardio. The cardio varies from doing an Arc Trainer (similar to an elliptical) to doing wind sprints combined with shooting basketball, or running on the track. On two of the days I mix in strength training. The other 3 days I work out around the house and/or in the garage. Right now I'll do 3 of 4 activities on those 3 days. One is jogging around the neighborhood. One is hitting a punching bag for about an hour and a half. One is working with an ab machine called an ab-doer for an hour and then mixing in about 30 minutes of floor exercises along with exercises involving a stretch band (as used with P90x), and then the one I always do is strength training in the garage on a home gym combined with jumping rope between sets.

Starting some time in October practices for league basketball starts up, and I'll do an hour and a half of basketball practice twice a week as a substitute for the two days I went to the gym for cardio only. That lasts until mid-March.

Inspirational, Walter - one of the things I want / need to start doing is getting SOME exercise on the days I don't go to the gym - at least a half hour brisk walk.

Hello

I walk 5 days a week and do others 3 days a week. I love it I don't belong to a gym but have to work out at home. I also do sitting down workouts with the older people in my apartment house. I need help to keep me accountable.
