Hi everyone and welcome to this Group!

For those of you who don't know me, I'm Lori, the eHarmony Community Manager.

I also own three Groups and will be soon starting a fourth:

1. This Group, which you obviously already know about

2. Talk to your Community Team:
Talk to your Community Team Group -eHarmony Advice
which is a place for Community Members to discuss all matters related to the eHarmony Advice Community experience with me.

3. eHarmony Advice Hot Topics:
eHarmony Advice HOT Topics Group -eHarmony Advice
which is a sort of FAQ for all of the dating/relationship topics which come up often here

4. eHarmony Advice Shape Up Club:
(coming soon)
which will be a place for those of us trying to slim down and/or tone/bulk up to share tips, advice and weekly progress reports with each other.

Tell us about your Group(s)!

Hi,

Saw this group and thought I'd join. That probably means I've broken group etiquette already as I don't have a group of my own! However, I have been thinking of starting one.

As you might know, eHarmony's been on a bit of a marketing push in the UK, yet there appears to be very little UK related content on the boards here - not that advice can't be universal. Still, I was thinking about setting up a UK or London site for those eHarmony users this side of the ocean.

Any hints/tips would be much appreciated!

Bryan

Hint: You must whip it.
Adice: Whip it into shape.
Tip: You will never live it down
Unless you whip it

G'day Lori, I've Creative Writing.

Wow - I am really surprised by how quickly people started posting. Thank you for featuring it!

I am amazed by how easy I am finding it to start new threads, even if they only get a few posts.

Hello fellow groupies, I've enjoyed posting in some of your groups, and decided to create one of my own, and I'm also interested in inheriting inactive groups. Lori's going to help me with that. =)

My new group is called "drummers unite" it's pretty special interest so I don't expect much action, but I love seeing the sheriff's star next to it in "my groups." lol

Hello, All,

I am the new Group Owner on Widow / Widowers

So far, so good.

I do have some questions. I was told by the old Group Owner not to expect much in the way of Mod activity, but just in case...

I see the Moderation box appear now.

Will I use the Forum Tools box on the main title page?

Will I use the Select Post box in each individual thread?

How will I know when Moderation is needed? Am I informed if somebody hits Report Post in my Group...or how does that work...exactly?

Special Thanks to anyone that can answer prior to me messing up.

There are a few ways to know if there's a moderated post on your Group:

1. You'll see the moderation icon appear to the right of the thread title in the forum topic list for your Group

2. You may just notice a post that's tinted a sort of yellowish brown color instead of the standard grey background (or, blue for VCL's and green for admins like me).

These posts also appear in our moderation queue which is reviewed by eHarmony Staff and acted on accordingly. If the post does not have any violations in it, you can use the "Select Post" box and use the "Moderation" menu at the bottom of the screen to choose "Approve posts".

If they do have a violation in it, the best thing to do is to leave it for our team to handle, though you do have the option of PMming the Member and letting them know that if they re-post without the violation, their post will go live automatically.

The Thread Options pulldown will let you delete or sticky a thread - those are probably the only reasons you'd need to use that menu.

Hope this helps!
