Something I do every year is bake Christmas treats for Relay for Life, a new cookie every day for two weeks! It's fun and really spreads the Christmas cheer around. So I was thinking we could do something similar here, but virtually. Please post your favorite Christmas treat recipe here. Pictures welcome!

hmmm i'm not a baker...so I'll let the baker take this one...but I like ginger-spiced cake with whipped cream....and maybe with a warm cider or hot cocoa....yum.

This is my best Christmas cookie, one that is requested very year, and I am making them right now!

Well as soon as the butter and eggs are room temperature I am.

Cranberry white chocolate cookies

1 cup spiced rum
1 cup dried cranberries
1 cup butter room temperature
2 eggs room temperature
1 1/2 cup sugar
1 tsp molasses
1/2 tsp vanilla
1 tsp baking soda
1 tsp salt
2 1/2 cup flour
1 cup white chocolate chips

1. soak cranberries in liquor for an hour or more. Drain the cranberries reserving 1 1/4 tsp of liquor. Set berries aside. Preheat oven to 375.

2. Beat butter till light and fluffy. Add sugar and molasses and cream. (You can use brown sugar instead of this combination, it is the same, just cheaper to make your own.)

3. Add eggs, vanilla extract and 1 1/4 tsp of reserved rum or brandy that cranberries soaked in. Beat well until light and fluffy.

4. Add baking soda and beat for about 30 seconds.

5. Add the flour and salt, a bit at a time, beating until just mixed. Fold in the brandy soaked cranberries and white choco chips. Let chill for 15 min in fridge.

6. Line baking sheet with parchment paper and place rounded spoonfuls on sheet. Bake for 10 to 12 min at 375 or until golden brown. Let cool a minute then transfer to wire rack to cool completely.
