My favorite comfort food when I'm ill is Lipton's Chicken Noodle Soup with Ritz crackers. I can no longer have this soup because it contains MSG. Lipton has a Kosher variety with out the MSG but I like the old one better.

I guess my comfort food is ice cream. Most nights my desert after dinner is an ice cream cone.
Rice pudding the way my grandmother made with raisins and chunks of custard in it. Topped with sugar and cinnamon and a large spoonful of homemade whipped cream.

Coffee - helps me relax a bit when things are stressful. Unless I have too much, then I'm just wired!

My favorite comfort food when I am sick would be grilled cheese and tomato soup. When I was growing up my mom would make me this for lunch or dinner when I was not up to eating a "big meal".

It may seem strange but I really like a good hotdog when I am distressed. With those vinegar and salt potato chips and a beer. Blue Moon. With an orange slice.

A good steak doesn't hurt my feelings either. Medium rare. With some of that A-1 Steak sauce, or butter and bluecheese.

And what's going on ... hmm I don't guess I need a reason to eat something that comforts me. ; )

Ooh. Comfort foods.

- Chinese herbal chicken tonic. My grandma used to make it but after she died, nothing really tastes the same anymore.

So the next best thing to her awesome chicken soup is...

- Chicken soup with cheese dumplings.
I love this! Wonderful on a winter's night or a chilly night all wrapped up in a blanket with meat falling off the bone, plump, juicy vegetables and a sweet, clear soup.

-Curry chicken on rice with stir fried cabbage and garlic potatoes.
I absolutely love this combination because it was what I used to order as a child at my school canteen.

- Pancakes with butter and lashings of maple syrup.

- Peanut butter sandwiches dunked in sugary hot tea.
Another one of my grandma's tea time serve ups.
