A lot of things get written about how men use dating services with less-than-honest manner - and there is a lot of pretending that women don't do that. But women do do it a lot and that is worth mentioning.
I won't mention the number of married women using dating services but here is one ploy men should keep an eye out for.

eHarmony may have a better class of women using it but something I know for a fact from other dating sites is worth mentioning here. I have met such women and have had two of them confirm this scenario.

Sometimes women in a given locale - usually friends/co-workers - will form a sort of loose "Good Ol' Girls' Club. The ones I'm aware of are in the 45-55 age group and often "target" somewhat older men.

These women go on a dating site presenting themselves as interested in a long-term relationship when, in fact, they are not interested in that at all.

Their goal is to fill their social calendars with dates - usually to swank restuarants etc. - and then get together and compare notes with their girlfriends on Monday - sort of a "I was taken to a better place than you" thing in a friendly way. Or, "I was taken out to supper 5 times last week".

Once the woman has gotten a guy to take her out on some expensive date, she dumps him. Of course she'll pass his ID to her girlfriends so they can take advantage of him too.

A key to spotting these women is they are always pretty insistant (often in sly ways) on being taken somewhere expensive (and "braggable) on the first date. They know the longer they have to keep up the their charade the better the chance that they will get caught so it's really important for them to "score" a fancy restuarant or event on the first date.

Hopefully, most of the people using eHrmony - men and women both - are not interested in such counterproductive gameplaying but it's still something to keep in mind.

This sounds crazy, especially if these women are married. Are you sure your sources are reliable?

Yes in fact Seneca is quite right. I have run across these a few times and they are not that hard to pick out either.

These people(not being gender specific for the tender ones) are the ones who will be very quick to get that 1st meeting, already primed with "their favorite" place to go and chat over "dinner".

There are other red flags too but this is easy to weed out.

Laugh every day and hold your wallet close to you!!

No offense, but boy oh boy you should meet my ex and I can speak to this from personal experience. I will not elaborate on that here. TMI

It is just crazy because I would not only be cheating on the husband but also be lying to my date AND abusing his wallet. I guess I just don't hate men enough! (I am rather fond of men actually.)

This is not a gender-specific problem. Disclaimer time: I am not referring to anyone here of either gender for the tender ones.

Some people are just wired that way. This type of problem is hard to explain even after being married to one such person for way too long!!!

Wow, this is the first time I have heard about individuals (male or female) doing this as a group. I understand that there are females out there who just like to go out on "dates" simply to be wined and dined, but I haven't heard about anyone doing this as a group and passing along User IDs.

I must be one of the "good" ones because I would prefer that someone not spend a lot of money on the first date with me. If we like each other then after that I don't mind. ;-)
