And closer?

I've seen conflicting advice (electric shaver or not, shaving gel or plain soap, etc.) and wonder what the women here in LTAS do--or don't!

I use a regular (disposable) razor and Bikini Zone's shaving gel for that specific area. It's supposed to be extra sensitive and reduce rashes and bumps. But I'm like.. ULTRA sensitive, so I still get a bit of irritation, so i afterwards I apply a medicated cream, also made by Bikini Zone, and it works wonders.

first, i recommend waxing over shaving.

the first time hurts, but if you continue to do it regularly its less painful and the hair grows back very fine and sometimes not at all. i've been waxing for a few years and now, even after 6 weeks, I have barely any hair down there.

if you must shave, trim the hair with a scissor first, then use a really good razor, fresh blade, and a shave cream like Coochy brand ( you can leave it on for a bit to soften the hair.

after, use a cream with 2% salacylic acid in it ( nuetrogena makes one) or Relax and Wax brand Get the Bump Outta Here roll on.

and some powder to minimise chafing. exfloiating helps a lot too, to get any ingrowns to pop out.

shave regularly, even if you don't need too, to get your skin used to it.

Bein me. I do things a lil differently.

I use a regular razor like I use on my legs. MatchIII I believe.
Its a man's razor but I like it jus fine.
I dont shave 'against the grain' in that area for the simple
fact that it leaves me with bumps an red pock marks like
a Mother-. The result is that I have to shave that area
a lil more offtend than the rest but I'd rather that than
to be lookin like I have a bad case of acne? ..... yea.
I still get a close shave. It still looks nice. Feels nice.

I also trim the rest that I choose to leave with 'female trimmers'
I do that bout once every other week. Or dependin on my
mood I may jus shave it all off. Eh.

Anyway. Thats me. If I had it to start all over again I'd
probably jus keep it trimmed up. When it starts to grow
back out it itches like a mother- too.

I'd try it, cept I'm chicken. The thought of hot wax rippin away
hair down to the root in such a sensitive area jus makes me
nervous.
I'm too shy to show my what nots to jus anyone.
Let a known to someone that wants to rip my hairs out.

I wanna try getting a Brazilian wax job. But I'm scared now. lol I have a friend who told me a horror story of 2 girls she knew. They had really sensitive skin down there, and when they got waxed it seriously ripped off a layer of skin.
