I've dated women of all races ever since I could remember. A lot of times its due to the fact that as an multi-racial young man who looks primarily black aside from subtle features (and light heterochromatic eyes), I've been written off by women of colour. I'm into lots of ...eh non-afrocentric things. I play rock/metal music, I'm highly into philosophy/mystisism (lots of "isms" in general), art, japanese culture, subculture, and just how I carry myself /dress in general is a turn off for them.

But I often find myself between a rock and an extremely hard place because not only do I have this limiting my pool, I also find that often times when I meet women who arent of colour who I find are extremely compatible with me, they dont date men of colour. Preference, prejudice aside, it makes me feel hopeless.

Add the fact that the women who do tend to date me we have nothing in common--they don't stimulate me intellectually and a lot of times they just fetishize black men--I'm more like a conquest to them...

and you thought women are the only one's getting tricked and played?

bah...I don't know how to really look at it. Try as I may to just not think about it, its a problem. I want so much to be in a healthy relationship with someone who gets me and vice versa, but it usually turns into hurt and/or disappointment..

any advice, at all?
