This is a thread for laughter and joy ..... too often the pieces forgotten as our discussions get too serious. This is a thread for just laughing together and being community.

This is not a thread for "If yous". It is a thread for sharing laughter together and fun, a thread for turning mourning into dancing and being clothed with joy.

Today, the most important things I am going to take into my day is my smile and my readiness to laugh and share with others. It is going to be a good day.

Tag! You're it!

Hello world! The sun is shining. Leaves are beginning to show on the trees and I have another painting ready to take from my head and my heart to a canvas.

And you?

What kind of a hairy pecker was that?

Cedar wood, birch wood, balsa wood, or other?

I'm very joyful today . . . and happy and smiley and sunshiney!

I will soon be on my way to the park to spend the afternoon reading in the sunshine and then I will be spending the evening sorting paper and packing. I will be sure to have an iced capp by my side, which will surely keep me in a good mood!

I almost forgot! I just checked the mailbox and found my GST return. Yay me!! I love finding money in my mailbox. I told my mom I was going to buy bankers' boxes with it so I have something to pack my books in. lol

Yes, practical is me. lol I also bought a box of hair colour and am going to change my hair tonight. Reddish, but not flame red or burgundy. Just a nice light brownish-red. That was my splurge today. I'll throw in a few blonde highlights to brighten it all up.

I'm leaving Regina permanently. Hooray!!! After almost eight years here, I'm ready to go. I'll be in Ottawa for the summer for sure, but there's a good chance I'll be there until at least Christmas. I need to finish my thesis and get this degree done. I also need to find work and there's not a lot of that around here for someone with two degrees in history. lol I'll be looking into the requirements to teach at private schools. I have an aunt and uncle in Pennsylvania, so I might look there. New York state is an afternoon's drive from Ottawa too, so I might check things out there. And of course I'll be looking in Canada too. But I won't be moving back to Regina, that much I know for sure! lol

My oldest daughter (27) graduates this year as well. Her degree will be in theatre arts. She won't be staying in Manitoba either as there are not graduate programs for her here.

What would your dream position be?

If I could do anything, I would write history for a living. I would write all kinds of essays, articles, and books about the Reformation. As a professor, that would be one of the requirements of my job, but I would love to just write. I do enjoy teaching a lot though, so I'm hoping to do that.
