This question has been bothering me for a while now. Especially since because of my racial, educational, income and physical demographics, my chances of marriage are slim to none. People say there's someone for everyone, but I've seen many women go before me...good Christian women...that went their whole lives without being married. Some that genuinely wanted to too. Accepting this led me to realize that I instead need to be asking, is marriage something God wants for me?

I was letting my statistical chances get me down, but then God showed me that it just meant I had fewer opportunities to force something into my life that God may not have wanted for me.

I really believe you need to start by questioning why you want a spouse in the first place. Is it to be a light to others through your marriage? Is it to relieve a desire to be loved by another human? To have children? To stop people asking when you'll marry? I think motivation is a very important piece of this puzzle.
This is a honest struggle you are going through and one many women contend with. The place I would encourage you to seek out is in the word of God. What does God tell of His purpose in marriage? Then begin to specifically pray about your own heart concerning each one. If you need help with finding verses let me know I can direct you. But to give you a few basics on His purpose I will leave you with these thoughts.

One purpose is the witness to the world of Christ and His bride and how a christian marriage modles this mystery.
Another is to bring up Godly offspring as a witness to the world. the last and I believe is most difficult for women living in our time is to be a helper for a man. This too is a witness for our time in a Godly marriage. Their might be others but I cant think of them right now. If anyone else know of other purpose in marriage scriptually I would like to here from you.

I hope this helps in finding direction in your life concerning this sensitive issue.
