Hi friends!

I posted a thread about this in another group, but I thought you might like to know too.

I've been waiting to hear about this huge scholarship I applied for in October and I just found out on Wednesday that I got it!! It's part of a national competition in Canada and is funded by the federal government. Every university gets only a certain allotment and an application and thesis proposal has to be recommended to the national committee by the committee at a student's university. Mine was forwarded to the national committee in February and I've been waiting to hear since then.

The scholarship is big enough that I won't have to work for the next year unless I want to. Hooray!! I can't even believe I've been offered the scholarship! The news is still sinking in!

I'm not sure about the move yet. I'll probably stay here to finish my last class, but after that there will be nothing to keep me here. I can write my thesis anywhere, so I might set up camp in a new location. It would be nice to get out of Regina even for a little bit.

Thanks!! Having this scholarship will probably help with the job search too, whether I keep looking for a job now or when I'm looking later. It certainly can't hurt! lol
