So here I am single and 44. I have been single for about 12 years and have dated a lot of men over the years and for the life of me I can't figure out - Why is it that I am still looking at the 30 year olds???

I have made every effort to date guys my own age (even raised to age limit on my eHarmony profile LOL). Even though I have gone out on dates with them, I just feel they are sooo much older than I am. My longest relationships have been with the men in their 30's. But I have ended them because of the age difference!

Believe me, I am not delusional - I know I am 44. I may not look my age, but I do know I am 44. I love the outdoors and I am in a couple of groups (Jeep Club and a volunteer emergency responder) and all the men are mostly in their 30's. We have a blast together!

Should I just forgot my hang ups and give into the 30 year olds?!?!

I experience a similar thing. It's like I don't even think about how old (or rather, how young) a woman is. Like one time at a party I was talking and dancing with a woman....and it was only the next day that it occurred to me that she was probably 20 years old.

For you I'd say....if you think you can get what it is that you're looking for from a 30 something then sure, go for it.

So did your taste in foods and clothing completely change from 35 to 45? No idea why it's right or wrong that your taste is your taste.

The question is for the men that are growing older and growing tired.
I have dated men that are more "age appropriate" they want the 30 somethings.
So why not for us women. We are the new 30.

Although I also hesitate getting into that serious relationship with someone 10 years or even more younger. Knowing it may cause tension with my children. Not to mention the fact that he may want to start a family.

That's the part that always makes me bow out.

If you are attracted to someone who is in his thirties and he is attracted to you, what's the problem?

I wouldn't end a relationship due to the age difference. If you are comfortable and get along with 30 y/o men...well, why not? I say go for it.

If it's a serious relationship there are other factors right? Do they want kids? Do you? Do they want something long term? Do you? Do your goals in life match up? So many relationship questions have not a whole lot to do with age. I say go for it and have fun.

Most men I get along with best are in their mid-30s. The problem is, they haven't started a family yet and they want that someday, so I don't want to waste their time or mine...so I'm still looking! Because I am serious about wanting a relationship that will last. You know? Age shouldn't be the primary factor in your decision..IMHO. Good luck!!

I know exactly what you mean NoDumBlon! I am now 46, feel like I am 30 and still am way more attracted to young guys. Sometimes even in their 20's!!! I have been single for 15 years, having done my share of dating, but still get hot after the youngin's. If I LOOKED really young it wouldnt be a problem, but I look my age I think and dont get the ogling I used to get. Very frustrating!!!!

I am not sure I want kids but tend to go for younger guys. Am open to older guys but they tend not to go for me. To me, it is an attitude thing. I tend not to be serious enough and that gets old after awhile.

The kids part I think is the main thing and any generational gap (like they don't know who Simon LeBon is and why it is important I must make that concert). But other than that, who cares.

I telll everyone my age and am not hung up on it. I upset women though when I say things like "you're not old, you're my age" and since everyone knows my age, the cat's out of the bag...

It's a generational thing. Younger guys have been taught and think like feminists. I'm in the 40s , work out 5 days a week from home and can still act like a kid I find many women my age can no longer smile or laugh.

I don't date younger women. I try to be a role model to them, act friendly, help them if I can with advice, etc.
