I will go up to 10 years older and 5 younger.

The most successful relationships I've had have been with men my same age or 1-3 years older/younger.

Okay, so if you found someone, why are you still on these goofy sites.....? Heck, I would be as far away as possible....LOL

single_in_va found someone. Not me. I'm still trying to figure out what makes my dates click.

I think it depends if you stil want children of your own. If you do, then I would go ten years younger since most women in their forties don't want to start having children.

I am not sure where you got this idea - I knew quite a few that ARE interested in having children.

I'm pretty sure if you took a poll, the MAJORITY of women in their forties do not want to start having children. Certainly there is nothing wrong with it and I do know a few (very few) who do want to start families in their forties.

I would think though ifa man really wanted to have his own biological children, he might want to expand his age range ten years younger because he would have a better chance of matching up with someone who wanted to start a family.

Yea that is what my thinking is but what if it is not ment for me to have children?I have wasted a lot of yr.s.
Okay, so I know this thread is way old and I may have actually posted on it already. However, Jet, you know I love you so I have voice my opinion (again?).

I got married last week to a man who is 50. He has never had children and I have 3 (almost) grown children (20, 19 & 16) and we ARE planning on at least 2 more, either bio or adopted, because I want to make his life complete. Don't worry about the future, talk about it openly when the time comes, but don't make decisions now. If you meet the right person it will all work out.

I promise!

I know a couple of nice guys in their 30s that have asked me out ... but I'm ten years older. Can't have kids and ... I just think they are too young. You know? I figure they will want to set up house and home and add to their families ... and I'm (and I am just saying ME) too old for that. The old girlfriend of one of them was 25 ... and I keep thinking "I'm going to introduce what 20 years does to a body? Uh uh." Plus, they text all the time. That just makes me crazy ... I don't have thumbs that can keep up with them ... I'm just an ole girl that uses the phone ... for TALKING. *sigh*

There is no such thing as wasting time. All is how we got here. I would adopt and have a blast with kids. And they would be mine.

It's about heart, not biology.
Hi, I'm 44 and my son is almost 4 y.o. I would be really glad to date with man who has a child around this age. I'm pretty sure it would be a very good match, children will be happy and we are too! But the problem is I don't want to date with guys much younger then me, I prefer an older men and of course older guys don't have children around 4 y.o. and don't want to have.

Wish I could offer some advice on this but as I just got out of a 28 year marriage .. this dating thing is new to me. I think if the chemisty is there - what is age - just a number. But at this stage in my life I think someone around my own age maybe 5 years either way would be best. Who knows. I have a feeling dating isn't as easy as it was in younger days.
Know what you mean...I've found that they are still just boys...just in a different body size

Been married and divorced from someone 8 years older, married and divorced from someone 10 years younger... it is just a number....it needs to be a maturing in the mind...possibly wisdom comes with years...not sure...haven't met one like that yet
