My amazement is indescribable, I just had to share.

There have been a number of threads in the past dealing with the virtues of different dating sites, which ones work the best, etc. Well, I just got a match on Chemistry (no I am not a subscriber). This is what is in her profile:

Profession: I have worked in a restrunt for 18 years. I the asst manger.

Now I can understand misspellings and typos but I am suspecting that this is not the case here.

I've received matches (on eHarmony and Chemistry) with that same kind of thing. The editor is not amused!

On the other hand, spelling is probably not required for her job at the manger. Or was it all a st[r]unt?

Maybe she was going for humor.

Maybe she's a bad speller. I dated one, half the time I had to re-read what his emails said. It didn't stop me from liking him.

Curious as to why you're posting this. Are you trying to point it out and get some laughs? Are you looking for justification to communicate with a bad speller?

Thanks for the reply, it wasn't a question though so didn't need an answer. It could have been typos that she didn't catch.

I have a son that has what the teaching profession at the public school level at that time in their absolute lack of knowledge about different methods of learning, called a learning disability. (In actuality it is a common way of learning and should not be classified as a disability at all.) However, he has difficulty spelling correctly without the help of a spellcheck or other aid. He is a college grad and has done very well in his industry, but if you were to look at a note from him you would need a moment to figure out what it was saying as it is phonetically presented. He would not be so comfortable or rash to send a message like that in a professional setting, but I'm his mom and he's free to let in flow with me. There may be people in the Eh dating site that have no natural ability to spell correctly, are not very familiar with computers and lack the ability to import a spellcheck program and are just trying to meet someone to ward off the loneliness of a life spent by themselves. I don't hold it against them when chosing whom to date or not date. I've found that after some getting to know them it makes very little difference in the level of their compassion, honesty, knowledge of the world, and certainly no difference in the dark (or the light!) while making love. I think it just possible that I might have a flaw or two that will need to be overlooked as well so I'm not throwing any judgement on the spelling thing - it's too easily explained and not a reflection on a person's value in my eyes.
