I love both dogs and cats. If I had to choose though, I would choose a cat because they're not quite as needy.

tarantula -- could keep it in a terrarium -- unless I could have a harmless garter snake or something...

Would you rather have a pet bird that might live 80+ years or a tiny creature such as a hamster that will have a short lifespan?
