Google has recently deemed those dating sites “nonfamily safe,” and therefore its ads for such sites containing the word “cougar” will not be allowed on so-called content pages.

Google continues to allow similar advertising for the many sites that match older men and younger women, like DateAMillionaire, which assures its clients they can meet “sugar babies;” and ArrangementSeekers, which describes itself as “the original Sugar Daddy service catering to ambitious and attractive girls seeking successful and generous benefactors to fulfill their lifestyle needs!” Ewwww!

From the New York Times.

What would be the analogy to a "cougar", other than "old rich guy"? Hyena? Shark?

Perhaps if Sugar Daddies had a scary animal name they'd get banned too!

The Angler Fish, I believe is an appropriate equivalent, tempting its prey with the promise of a free dinner.

“It’s just wrong all around,” CougarLife said. “It’s age and gender discrimination. It’s just about older, successful, independent, strong women who enjoy someone that’s younger. Some of the men sites, they are borderline prosti.tution, and Google has no problem having them advertise.” CougarLife said it was considering filing a discrimination complaint with a Canadian agency that oversees equality issues.

I do not think a wise Grouper fish would fall for such tricks!

But that's the point with sugar daddies; they do fall for it. They actively encourage it, in fact.

And my fish is uglier than yours.

This CougarLife seems to be much better than PlentyofFishy, too. Much better designed and easier to use.

If you want to be a Cougar, I guess. Lol.

Which, I guess they do. Good for them.

Yeah......I think that's rude! If there is a tv show during primetime called Cougars, I don't see why Google would want to discriminate against them.
