Does anybody know of any calculators that can let me know how much insurance I would need?

I'm leaning more toward term than whole life, but we'll see. More research is required!
I used to work for State Farm, so I might be biased... but contact an agent and discuss this with them. Make sure they are an AGENT. Not a producer who works for an agent, not a broker, and preferably an agent with a well established book of business. Believe it or not, they will more than likely be extremely honest about how much you actually need. It's doubtful they will try to overinsure you, as this doesn't really benefit them or their company... they will try to sell you a policy though, so be prepared to resist a full court press if you aren't ready to buy.

If you want, PM me and I'll swing by my dad's State Farm agency and e-mail you one of their internal 'Financial Needs Assessment' worksheets. Might be helpful.
