Oh Gosh, I put my foot in my mouth in a such big way and I feel like total a-hole. Compounding the situation is the fact that my father always puts his foot in his mouth with total reckless disregard; I'm becoming my father.

Anyone sympathize? Can console me? Make me feel better?

Thanks!

It's inevitable. It happens. You have at least 50% of your father's genes, mixed as they are. He, you said is reckless where you hate yourself.

That's something.

Don't beat yourself up over it, just be conscious of it. Next time you feel yourself ready to sputter count to 5 slowly and choose your words wisely. You'll get the hang of it. Oh yeah, pay attention to the good genes. Those are the ones you want to sow.

I had to do a double take on this one, I thought you said you were becoming a father! Does that make you feel better?

It seems we all have moment when we think we are turning into our parents and I must admit it's kind of scary!

You're human--and we all do it. Don't compare yourself to your father; you're a unique individual, separate from him. Any similarity in behavior is purely coincidental.

Does your foot taste good? Because I'm always a little jealous that babies can do that and they seem to be so joyful about it. I feel like I'm missing out on something.

Welcome to the ranks of human beings. There's not a one of us who hasn't done it at least once and some of us make it a vertitable pasttime.

Yup, I agree with the others. It just means you're human, gene pool or not.

Thanks for all the kind words everyone. I just decided to deactivate my facebook account because it was causing too many problems.

Now can I trouble with one or two of you to check out and critique my eharmony profile? It is under using eharmony near the top. Thanks!

You jerk. Why don't you just go back to discussing T.S. Eliot's Nobel Prize where you can't hurt anyone...

I'm just kidding. I'm not sure what you said but it must have been pretty serious. Don't worry about it, the majority of the world's population are walking around on one foot anyways. And if what you said offends anybody then apologize and make amends. We all make mistakes, just ask my ex. Lol!!

Lady haha, you are cool. Excellent first post. Made me feel a lot better. Oh and just so that you know, you read me like a book; I definitely used to hide behind books because it was within my comfort zone. Thanks!
