Now that would be something

Thank goodness the company I’ve worked for for the last 7 years doesn’t have a ‘company’ Christmas party, we have an employee (only) holiday lunch. And, due to the economy we are not even having that this year. No dress, no date, no worries!

I never take a date to the Company Christmas Party. Mostly I just do the obligatory rounds and dance. And we usually have more than one party - I went to three different work Christmas parties last year!

I'm taking a stand. If I have to go in there alone, I'm going in gorgeous, confident, PROUD of my bad self...and unapologetic about being dateless. Who's with me??
I'M WITH YOU!!!!

But unfortunately my company party is a themed party. So I must go all proud of my bad self ... and sparkly.

I ... don't even have a Christmas party.

Makes the whole no date thing a bit easier.

I'll still buy a present though ... maybe ... for me ...

I shall go alone. I think it's a 'no partners' do this year and they're never formal so it's all good (sniff, sniff, miss that man).

Here's something to jolly us up though. Bet you all forgot that when you have got a man in tow you were always worried that he'd embarrass you horribly?

Go alone girls and scrutinise every man bought along by the smug co-worker who comments on your manlessness from time to time. That'll learn her, oh yes, that'll learn her!

: mad:

(CO, the seasonal bipolar emoticons are genius and I adore you for discovering them).

oh and don't worry about going alone to a work party... I've done it many times and still managed to have a blast - oh how could that have happened?

CO is bucking herself up to go alone to the Christmas Party. Thinks it might be too soon to torture new dude.

She must buy a suitable cute outfit.

Suggestions? Something shiny?

New Dude! Lovely ring to it.

Go as an angel, probably cupid, in head to toe spangles.

To add insult to injury, our union Christmas party every year charges more for us singles to buy a ticket! Okay, okay it's a nominal fee as the union pays the bulk of it, but it's just the idea!!! I've complained about it (I'm one of few singles in attendance) but they act like I'm being petty. I do go and I do have a good time, but it would be nice to go accompanied. Except for that sequin picker or food stealer...
