As we count down to Thanksgiving this year I thought it would be nice to look back over the past year, and each day, share with each other one thing we are grateful for having in our lives in 2009.

I'll go first:

Today I'm grateful for having a job I love with a great company. Over the past year I have watched so many of my friends become jobless (including at the company I left to come to eHarmony. If I had stayed, I would have been among them! ). Although I have every confidence they will land on both feet and come out even better in the end, it's still so difficult to be without work right now -- this makes me extra grateful for what I have.

How about you? What are you feeling grateful for today?

Today I am grateful that I have been able to take some fun trips this year with friends. I have been to Chicago, Atlanta, New Orleans already and I have one more trip to New Orleans in the works. It has been fun to meet with friends and get out of my daily routine. The trip to Chicago came at an excellent time (I was really down about a relationship at the time) and it reminded me what a great big world it is out there.

You stole my idea! I'm grateful that I got to meet some of my eHA friends this summer, everyone is so nice! I'm going to be in New Orleans too, we should get together.

I'm grateful I have a job I enjoy, that is intellectually stimulating and keeps me on my toes most days. And unlike other California state employees, I did not get furloughed (3 working days/month = 14 percent pay cut !) or laid off.
