Have you ever found anything strange in your food?

The worst I have was a tiny tiny bug in a salad. I was almost done with the salad so I just threw the rest away.

How about you?

Some years ago I stayed at a 5-Star hotel in London with my son and we ordered room service. In my salad I found 2 slugs, both very much alive.

I got a BK classic chicken sandwich once that had a 2-inch bone in the middle of it. Guess it is made from real chicken!

I think I'd have had a heart attack.

Are you sure you didn't order the escargot salad...lol?

I get a weekly share of produce from a farmer during the growing season. It's definitely always a good idea to wash it carefully before diving in. I've found quite a few big fat bugs, especially in the salad greens.

- A baby cockroach in a slice of banana bread I had, luckily, broken into half before eating at a school canteen.
Yes. School canteen.

- A full sized cockroach lying happily legs up on the top of my chicken & noodle soup as the garnish. Goodness knows how the servers never noticed. They offered to give it to me for free after I brought it over to show them and threatened to report them but I passed. Never been there since.

- My sister's Cadbury chocolate had maggots in crawling in them when she took a bite.

- The popular fly in my soup.

This is why I tend to dissect/cut open my food for quick examination before eating.

That's better than finding only one half of a cockroach in your food.
