Oh dear. Well it does sound like the group needs a new leader!

Yes, Yes,YES, forgive, you are over-reacting, people always are going to make mistakes in more ways than one, including you. Want to be happy? All your life? learn to forgive!, always forgive others and move ahead into positive areas as you grow with your experiences. Keep your nose in your own backyard. Develop a good sense of humour, after all, you came in diapers with nothing, and you will leave with diapers & nothing, except what good deeds you have accomplished for others.
Non forgiveness is the first step downhill into a lousy attitude and a negative poor perspective of life!
judgeing others is nonsense, don't waste your time. there are plenty out there judging you already, rise above this.

Glad your granny pulled through. Those old farts are tougher than we think. You should've seen my grandparents walking that road. I think they're mostly full of steel wool and six-penny nails.

I write, too, and I email some folks I consider friends, send them my stuff and they read it and tell me it's either bunk or bank.

But I try to be careful separating the story mails and the personal mails.

So sometimes I'll send an email just to check on them. No stories.

Sometimes they'll mail me personal stuff that has no bearing on writing.

We're friends, too.

Your guy apparently doesn't separate his thoughts like that. It's all about writing, all the time, nothing to do with friendship. He's constantly in that self-promoting phase that can swallow your Jonah if you aren't careful.

I just wouldn't talk personal stuff with him anymore. Forgiveness isn't even a consideration. Who cares about forgiveness? And what's there to forgive, and why would you want to?

The point is, he's a fellow writer, not a friend. He wants you to buy his books.

See the difference?

Now, posting my personal sh.t online, I'd be MIFFED!

I agree that his email was out of line. Unfortunately there are people out there who only think of themselves - I've known a few and I don't keep in touch with them anymore. The challenge you face is how to deal with him with dignity and grace - you don't want to fall to his level of tactlessness.

Glad to see you're grandmother's better. I hope she continues to improve.

Next meeting is tomorrow morning (Thursday). Found out yesterday that somebody in the group decided that I'm the new leader, so they went and published my full name and home phone number in a freebie newsletter they send out to the whole neighborhood, and on almost ten different websites.

Well, thanks. I was hoping to go through the bother of changing my phone number just because somebody's got no common sense. I swear, this group is so much more trouble than it's worth.
This seems to be turning into a comedy of errors. It's a good story idea if you ever need one. Is there another writer's group in your vicinity that you can join? A new group may be less trouble for you.

I did go this morning, even after waking up all of 15 minutes before the meeting, whoops.

Went nicely -- mostly because they all like my new POD book, lol. Craziest part was that when I explained why I hadn't been there last time, Self Absorbed Guy acted like that was the first he had heard of any of it. Hmm. Maybe he's not rude, but senile...

Started to talk to the lady who had published my info, and didn't even get the whole sentence out before she said, "I know, I know, here's how you change it, because it's out of my hands now!" She must have realized after the publication deadline that it wasn't the greatest idea in the world, and known I would be coming for her, lol.

Forgot to add that Gma got booted out of hospice this morning for being too healthy, YAY!

Wonderful news about your grandma.

What sort of things do you write?

I've written mostly screenplays, and a bunch of technical writing, but this current POD book is a goofy little thing I threw together (and illustrated with stick figures, because I can't draw) about how to be a "Loser Chick", lol. I'm finishing up the layout on a second POD book, a collection of four years of blog entries.

I'm mostly just amusing myself, lol.
