From today's news:

Video - Breaking News Videos from CNN.com

What do you think about this?

Ladies, are you more or less happy overall now than you've been in the past?

I read this article today. The funny thing is, all female feminists I know are happy, but that is not the case with the non-feminist ones.

I'd be happier seeing that this nonsence came from FOX rather than CNN. Must be a transferee.
Frogie is a pirate - and looks like Johnny Deep - oops Depp?
I'm happy - but could be happier if
1)women were paid equal wages for equal work,
2) female circumcision and other gender respressive practices were eliminated

that is all.

Omigosh, yes!
When I graduated from high school, girls were still being channeled into nursing, teaching, or secretarial work. The rare female executives, engineers, and scientists were seen as aberrations who would never be "really" fulfilled until they had a "real woman's life" which of course centered on spouse, home, and children.

Today, if you've become a nurse, teacher, or office worker, it's because you chose it, not that it was a default assumption. My daughters are working on/have graduate degrees and can go out and buy a car, start a company, or join the military without needing their father's or husband's permission.

I'd say that women who were limited in their choices (whether today or in the past) would be less happy. Of course, there are always some who don't like the responsibility of making their own decisions, and who have been raised to prefer being restricted.
