I was visiting Colonial Williamsburg about 5 years ago, and walked out of Shields Tavern restaurant at about 7:30 in the evening. It was March, so it was dark at that hour. I'd twisted my foot on a wet cobblestone earlier in the day, so I was limping slightly. I heard someone with a cane tapping rapidly behind me, and I could see their shadow approaching in the light from King's Arms Tavern, next to Shields. So I stepped aside to let them pass since I was moving more slowly than usual, due to the foot. I turned and smiled and was about to say something when both the shadow and the tapping disappeared abruptly. I suspect my smile did, too.
Afterwards, I got less skeptical and more interested in the many stories of unusual events in Williamsburg. The next time I was there, I took one of their evening ghost walks, and discovered that that area (in and around King's Arms Tavern) has a very high number of stories reported. The Peyton Randolph House has the most, the George Wythe House has some, and Tarpley's Store and the "gaol" each have a few as well. I also met a waitress at another restaurant whose husband has been a policeman in Colonial Williamsburg for over 20 years. He absolutely refuses to enter two of the buildings there, but she wouldn't say which two.

How fascinating! Must have been scary. I always wanted to do one of those ghost walks in London but I don't have the courage.

I don't have one myself but my SO had this dream where he was stalked by a ghost when he was pulling down his pants to use the bathroom. He screamed and woke me up!

He watches too many ghost movies. LOL!

Due to the situation, are you sure it wasn't the ghost that screamed?

When I was about 18/19, I was delivering flowers for my Mum on Valentine's Day. The last order I had to deliver was out near the state forest. Dark and dingy and a lot of scraggly bush everywhere. It didn't look like anyone was there, but I got out anyway with the flowers and walked up the half dozen steps leading to the door. My foot never made contact with the very top step ... it felt exactly like a giant hand was cradling my foot. I was terribly frightened and couldn't move for about 10 seconds. Then I dumped the flowers and bolted.

i returned to my home late one night and got to the top of my stairs and saw a young blonde soldier staring into my full length mirror .... he did not turn and look at me then i realised i could see straight through him even though i could see his uniform which was a long trench coat with a faded white cross on front of his body and dark trousers i turned away to gather my thoughts (fear) and when i looked back he was gone ....months later i was walking my dog at prospect park heathrow and came across a memorial for an airplane crash that had 5 soldiers on board .... i have since heard other people have seen him at the park and in the house opposite where i lived a women woke up and a young soldier was standing at end of her bed looking at her strange but very true dont know what he was looking for in mirror but i do hope he found his way home

Sure. My former wife never thought I was an adequate parents. Inadequate dress, diet, medical care, not attentive, just not! She maintained such up until she died (cancer). Since her death she has never bother to make any injunction from beyond as to my behaviour. I haven't changed. It is like she is concerned about her own kids anymore. What in the other place can be so important? Mind you our sons told their aunt that "mum" regularly visits them. Her poor sister is so jealous that never gets any contact. Annoys her heaps. Bit wicked on our son’s behalf. Mind you their aunt is a complete prate.
