Subject pretty much says it. I have aquired over the years many different colognes to 'try on', however they never seem to get too low. LOL. I guess I'm just the fresh clean soapy scent most of the time. However, I was curious as to what folks tend to like the most nowadays. Yes, I realize that each person will smell a bit different even when they wear the same cologne...but looking for what folks like.

Let's hear em!

I actually decided to add two more brands and thinking on a third, for the occasional wearing...

Locaste Essential

Polo Double Black

thinking about Bvlgari Pour Homme

It's been so long since I have really been around someone who wears cologne, or working with cologne (I use to work in a retail clothing store that also sold men's cologne) that I don't really remember. I know there are some that I really loved, but don't remember what they are. I think one of them was Hugo Boss.

As long as someone doesn't bathe in the stuff I usually am ok with it. I have a very sensitive nose though due to a medical condition so it doesn't take much of anything for me to smell it, and too much will give me a terrible headache.

I'll have to do some research and try to remember which ones they were that I really liked

I like the Bulgari, but also don't want to smell anything strongly. A dab'll do ya!

I agree on the not smelling anything strongly thing. We should not be able to smell your cologne from ten feet away. *lol* I'm a fan of Axe's Phoenix. The other Axe stuff is kinda blech, though. XP

I use Axe sometimes just because it's cheap...it works for daily use. I wouldn't say it smells great though.

Hello delta1109,

I love smells more than almost anything, and the right cologne can make me 'follow around an eldery gentleman' in the grocery store, just to get a little 'wiff' ,or stop me cold in my tracks.

You are in luck, because I know mens and womens colognes...

Women generaly don't want to be consumed by a scent their man wears...there are a few to recommend...

The Woods, from abercromby & fitch..if they still make it...not sure, but it is calming, a bit musk-y, (but not a musk scent), and strong enough, that you must get somewhat close to the man wearing it to smell it. I hope it's still available, if not, maybe go online and see.

There is another scent by a&f (above store) and it is stronger, called 'Fierce.' If you walk into the store, you will smell it everywhere...the employees have it one their hands, I believe, and it is on many of the clothing.

There is Safari, by Polo...hard to find, stronger than The Woods mentioned above, but heavenly, still.

Last I'll bring up is Curve, the original one for men...very nice, too.

You are right in stating that colognes smell different on all people, and it takes about 15 minutes from applying it for the final 'notes' to finish, and to really be alble to smell the final scent on you.

Don't spray it on your clothes, as it will usually stain them, and you may wear another scent the next time.

Also, don't put more than one on you at a time, even with trying to find a new one...ask the employees in the department store for a sample..try it on the next day, NOT before going out, incase you don't like it.

chrlesmd,

Are you kidding me? Haven't you seen the commercials about what that stuff will do to a woman? LOL!

P.S. Personally, I like the smell of some of the Axe sprays.

I don't wear the stuff often, but for nights out... Polo Blue or Bay Rum. I'm especially fond of Polo Blue.

As to Axe... personally, I think it smells terrible. Every time I smell it, it reminds me of the locker room (because that's usually where I come into contact with it - liberal amounts applied to cover up the sweat-scent when someone doesn't have time for a shower). But, a lot of women seem to like it. ::shrug::
