What was the best, or worst job interview you ever had?

The worst interview was one that seemed to be going well and then another person came in and whispered something to the interviewer and then left. The interviewer proceeded to tell me that the postition was just cancelled.

I was conducting an interview to hire a new employee, when their cell phone went off. I said 'if it's important, go ahead." They answered the call...got into a huge fight with their boyfriend on the phone, broke into tears and asked if I could leave (my) office until she finished the call. Not quite sure how the boyfriend thing turned out...and I'm not quite sure what she's doing for work now, either, lol!

No fortunately it wasn't. It was another local water company last October, but was the most bizarre interview I have been on. Maybe I should become a professional interviewee?

Wow! She didn't get the job?

I never take a cell phone to an interview, that is so rude. Or at least turn it off.

The strangest job interview I ever had was NOT getting an interview. I called and arranged the interview, I showed up slightly ahead of time, the receptionist took my name and asked me to have a seat. Moments later the boss came out, confirmed my name, said I was just the sort of individual they were looking for and when could I start.
It wasn't until I came to work on Monday that he asked me how much I wanted to be paid, and then gave me a raise a week later.

It could very well be the interview I have coming up on Friday.

A guy from the organization called me on a Sunday night to see when I'd be available for an interview so they could arrange it. I gave him general times in the day that worked. I called him back on the following Thursday to see what was up. I got a call from a woman in his office the next day with potential times a week and a half later. None of the times were when we discussed so I said fine and took the day off.

Got a call two days before the interview and was told it had been postponed.

When the woman called me back, she hadn't even known the first guy called me and he was 'no longer with the organization'.

Every time I have spoken to someone in the organization they start the call with "Are you still interested in the position?" Hmmm, maybe not after the interview :P

A few years ago, I was interviewing a young man who had applied to join my department. It was odd. He turned up wearing casual dress and he was unable to answer most of the questions fully. When he was asked why he wanted to join my department, his answer was 'I am intrigued'. So then my colleague asked him what he found intriguing about my department and he answered; 'I don't know, I'm just intrigued by it.' Rightio then!
