Are you doing the job you dreamed of as a child? If not, is it a possibility for the future?

When I grow up, I want to be an eHA moderator.

Since I'm lurking on the boards already, I might as well get paid for it.

famous neuroscientist.

I think the category "heroes" could use some redefining, and on good days I feel I have a pretty good shot of working myself into the process. I'm capable enough to make it in the field and uncapable enough to be famous for infamy, if it comes to that.

(On bad days it's just me and my cell cultures and maybe a mouse or two-- Out to save the world ...um, and find love on eH of course.)

I'm kidding, but only slightly. Like 1.9% kidding. The other 98.1% is serious.

I guess soldier and superhero are king of close. I did enlist back in 2007. I am in training apparently forever... but hopefully sometime in 2010 I will be ready to lead troops and go off to the sandbox!

Congratulations!

Heh - it took me 40 years to decide to be an English teacher. When I was a kid, I wanted to be a paleontologist or an archaeologist. Neither was possible at the time, but I'm happy where I am.

I am currently studying pre-law and want to work as a divorce mediator and a guardian ad litem for the children of divorcing/separated parents. Ultimately I want to make divorce/separate parenting as easy as possible on the children involved.

No, I wanted to be a Vet. Unfortunately, the Maths side of things doesn't come easy to me at all, if I remember correctly, I passed Year 12 Maths by a lousy 7 points!Uni was never going to be a reality for me.

I kind of 'fell in' to my current job ... hindsight is a most useful tool, I can see all the little steps adding up to where I am today! I am very good at my current job and enjoy it mostly ... probably because of the diversity involved.
