Has anyone ever read Jane Eyre? Long book but it didn't take me long to read, I could not put it down! I saw a movie trailer for it at the theater, so I will probably go see it when it comes out.

The first time I read it I was 11 or 12, it became a teenage favorite. I still pick it up to re-read every couple of years, for nostalgia. I think it is one of the better written of the Bronte's books.

I tried reading it once for a book report in High School but found it so boring that I dumped it and picked another book. One of the only books I declined to finish. I still have it somewhere, and may get around to reading it someday...

I had never heard of the author until a cousin of mine got the book for Christmas. It's one of my favorites now. I can't wait to have some time to read more often. I'm still in grad school so I really shouldn't be reading anything but textbooks. I actually felt guilty reading it! lol

If you like Jane Eyre, you should also try Wuthering Heights.

I did actually finish Wuthering Heights, and I hated it, too! Why is Heathcliff such a romantic ideal? He was completely horrible to Cathy, yet she couldn't stay away from him.

He was dark and mysterious and she loved him.... It is depressing but right along the lines of Jane Eyre and the era. I just recently saw the old movie on television (with a very young Timothy Dalton.)
