Anyone read any of Atul Gawande's books?
He's a surgeon at Brigham & Women's Hospital in Boston, and an assistant professor at Harvard Medical School, and the Harvard School of Public Health.
He's also a staff writer for "The New Yorker."

He's written a series of books based upon his views of being a surgeon, and of medical practices...how they've evolved, and how we know them today.
He's received many accolades and awards, etc. for his writing and now I know why.

His latest book, "The Checklist Manifesto: How to get Things Right" is about how to improve the whole process of surgery, borrowing the idea from the aviation industry...
Here's a link, along with an audio excerpt from the PBS News Hour:

Last night, I finished his first book:
"Complications: A Surgeon's Notes on an Imperfect Science."
I couldn't put it down.
It's a fascinating book about not only medicine and cases that Gawande was part of, but also how & why surgeons and the medical world typically view these cases.
