About Me

    About Me

I'm a writer and yes, I do it everyday and yes, I get paid for it. Is it my only job? Certainly not. Have you read anything that I've written? Besides my posts, it's unlikely. I'm young yet - give me time! :) I'm a "people person" and when I say that I mean I really enjoy people - all different kinds. I'm opinionated and direct, but that doesn't lessen my desire to learn about other people and their various opinions. Often I have a sarcastic tone but once you get to know me you'll see that I really just have sweet, gooey center. :) And my random accomplishments are that I play clarinet (decently but not impressively) and I speak fluent french.

    Music

I listen to everything from the Beatles to Barbra Streisand. The only thing I don’t particularly love is rap – but I do enjoy some of it. I especially like live music and this includes garage bands in dive bars, the opera and everything in between. I’m also a sucker for a good musical.

    TV Shows

I don’t really have time to watch TV as much as I’d like to, and it always come second to reading but when I do watch T.V. I enjoy: The Office, 30 Rock, Saturday Night Live, How I Met Your Mother, South Park, Family Guy, King of the Hill, Scrubs, The Big Bang Theory, Heroes (I used to be in LOVE with Heroes – need to get into it again), Battlestar Galactica, Mythbusters, Man Vs. Wild, Survivorman, and almost everything on the Food Network especially Paula Deen.

    Movies

The Philadelphia Story, Gone With the Wind, It Happened One Night, The Way We Were, My Fair Lady, Beauty and the Beast, Aladdin, Cinderella, American Beauty, Pride and Prejudice, Sense and Sensibility, The Princess Bride, The Sound of Music, Jurassic Park (liked the books too), Garden State, The Breakfast Club, Sixteen Candles, Sleepless in Seattle, Pulp Fiction, All Monty Python Movies, Ghost, Burn After Reading, Fargo, Little Women, The Notebook, A Walk to Remember, Blazing Saddles, Men In Tights, 007 movies, Best In Show, Ratatouille, Toy Story… I could go on.

    Books

LOTR, Harry Potter series (whatever, make fun of me, I loved it), Little Women, Little Men, Love Walked In, The Secret Life of Bees, The Notebook, A Walk to Remember, All of Jane Austen, All Kurt Vonnegut books, The Chronicles of Narnia, The Time Traveler’s Wife, The Host, 1984, A Wrinkle in Time, The Other Queen, The Duchess, a lot more…will list as they come to me :)

    Quotes

It's not easy being green. - Kermit the Frog

Any reviewer who expresses rage and loathing for a novel is preposterous. He or she is like a person who has put on full armor and attacked a hot fudge sundae. - Kurt Vonnegut

Asking a working writer what he thinks about critics is like asking a lamppost how it feels about dogs.

Nothing takes the taste out of peanut butter quite like unrequited love. - From the Peanuts

Good-humoured, unaffected girls, will not do for a man who has been used to sensible women. They are two distinct orders of being. - Jane Austen
