I am a VP of a young professionals civic organization where we are involved in community projects, volunteering, leadership trainings, networking, and personal goal management. Since I became a member I have learned to manage people, manage an organization, take control of projects, speak in front of a group of people, and give people the benefit of the doubt by allowing them to achieve. And if a project is a failure, we ALL learn what to do and not do next time. It has definitely built my leadership characteristics. I don't get paid to do this and I volunteer all my efforts and time, but this has been the most ultimate personal fulfillment and satisfaction ever. On another note, I also have my catastrophy adusters license.
