About Me
I am active, happy, optimistic and quite flexible. My underlying theme of continuing education and enlightenment is evident in most of what I do and what interests me greatly. Self betterment and understanding myself and others are recurring subjects. Particular interests change over time. Other parts of me are intelligent conversation/discussion/exchanging ideas [your input/views needed], love animals, nature, fitness, health, travel, cooking, helping others, participation, ideas, and humor. My hands work as well as my head (am very mechanical). I have a pleasant, playful, demeanor and personality; sometimes I am introspective and a little quiet, other times I'm more extroverted and can be the life of the party.
I do love the outdoors, going to the country and simple pleasures; I take time to smell the flowers literally and figuratively. Immensely popular are ethnic cultural events, places and towns to explore, museums, making a nice relaxing day or more simple pleasures as breakfast on the picnic table in the backyard. Ive enjoyed driving seventy miles to explore a village, taking in its history and especially old mansion architecture and visiting unusual stores or just going for a drive with someone I like. The South, West and East U.S. are absorbing with their history and culture differences. Im a person who likes wider open spaces at heart, but am trapped in the city. Children are great and I get along well with them but have none. Lest I frighten you, I can be happy staying at home and do know how to relax. I think the end to all of our pursuits is happiness and am looking for someone to share with.

Music
I seldom have the radio on anymore. In the car attentions are relatively undivided and talking seems to prevail. When alone, quiet is good, thinking, talk radio or occasional music works, respectively. Sometimes I prefer music only, since the music is the best part and many times I can't understand the lyrics anyway. Country is interesting partly because of the music and also the thoughts they purvey with the periodic humor snuck in.
TV Shows
Occasionally the History Channel, Discovery, Science Channel, Food Network, Travel Channel but mostly Fox's real news - not the fantasy news with an political agenda on ABC, CBS, NBC, CNN. Although TV has a place I watch very little.
Movies
I don't watch movies by myself. To give you an idea of my taste: I would probably enjoy all of the top twenty movies each year. Anything that's reasonably intelligent works for me and some that aren't. Once in a while a good shoot-em-up is ok too.
Books
I read a lot, both books and on the internet, all non-fiction. Currently I am on a jag of feline and human nutrition and cooking of India; very healthy and many flavors abound. Dr. Louis Ignarro, Jack Challem and Dr. Gary Smalley are authors whose work I've read recently. The internet is fabulous for filling in or updating information or presenting different views to the books.
